Refrigeration Sales and training go back to the beginnings of the company in 1945. Warren Farr Sr. was a big believer in the importance of improving the skills of his workforce, and later, technicians throughout the HVACR industry. When “refrigeration” was in its infancy, it was critical that technicians had the proper knowledge to help the industry grow. Today, in addition to refrigeration, we now train technicians in residential, commercial, and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Our focus has always been on the student, and his/her ability to learn. The most critical factor in learning is the instructor, so as a result, RSC is extremely selective in who we allow to stand in front of any group of technicians. All of our in-house trainers are either NATE or AHRI certified in their specialty.
As proof that our instructors are tops in their field, twice in the last several years they have been awarded “Trainers Of The Year” by Carrier Corporation. In our industry, this is about as high an honor as can be obtained.
Our desire to continually improve the student’s learning experience has resulted in the construction of four complete labs for hands-on instruction. In both Valley View and Columbus, we have HVAC labs which consist of 10 furnaces/air handlers and condensing unit combinations. These include heat pumps and oil furnaces. In Valley View we also have a complete Refrigeration Lab, with walk-in freezer, reach-in coolers, ice machines, and various evaporator/condenser combinations, using multiple refrigerants. Our most recent addition is a Sheet Metal Lab in Valley View to provide the basic skills necessary to install IAQ accessories, and entire systems.
